This is the latest addition to Puma’s DEVIATE range and big suprise, the first one not to have a carbon plate. A step backwards or two steps forward'?

It uses the same Nitrofoam as the Deviate Nitro but without the carbon plate giving a stripped down, back to basics PURE shoe. Designed for training at speed, it promises to give a smooth, responsive, energy fueled ride. Losing the plate sheds 30 gms off it’s sister shoe, the Deviate Nitro.

Well I will be first in the queue. Although I appreciate the advancements carbon plates have brought us, particularly on race day, I can’t help feeling it can’t be good for us to be training in them every day too. So I will really welcome this ‘back to the future’ move.
