If you’ve tried all the strength training, working on ankle strength, knees and hips and you still need extra support and stability, don’t worry, there are lots of specialist shoes out there designed to fix just that.
We looked at 8 shoes from the main manufacturers. The Saucony Guide 19, Nike Structure, Hoka Arahi 8, Brooks Adrenalin GTS 25, Asics Gel Kayano, Puma Forever Run Nitro 2, Adidas Supernova Rise 3 and the New Balance Fresh Foam X860 v15
Six of these did the job well enough, they were pretty equal in performance, not bad shoes but not great shoes either.
But 2 stood head and shoulders above the rest. Two shoes that I would have no hesitation recommending.
The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 25, and the
Asics Gel Kayano 32.
